Our Ranger Programs are designed for children and teenagers from 3 to 18 years, with each experience evolving as they grow, from their first discoveries in nature to more immersive wildlife, conservation and field based learning

Junior Explorers (Ages 3-6)
Where curiosity begins.
A playful introduction to the natural world designed especially for our youngest explorers.
Children learn through observation, stories, games and hands on activities, discovering animal tracks, listening for bird calls, exploring the bush, creating nature inspired art and experiencing their first family safari.

Young Rangers (Ages 7-12)
Look closer. Learn more. Explore further.
Young Rangers takes children beyond simply spotting wildlife and introduces them to how the natural world works.
Through guided exploration, field activities and conservation based learning, young rangers begin developing their observation skills while discovering animal behaviour, habitats, tracking and the interconnectedness of Yala’s ecosystem.
Perfect for: Curious young wildlife enthusiasts ready to understand more about what they see in the wild.

Lead Rangers ( Ages 13-18)
The next step into the wild.
Designed for teenagers who want more than just a safari, the Lead Ranger Program combines adventure with real field skills, conservation, photography and leadership.
Participants learn alongside experienced rangers, developing a deeper understanding of wildlife while building confidence, independence and a stronger connection with the natural world.
Perfect for: Teenagers interested in wildlife, photography, conservation, adventure or simply spending more meaningful time outdoors.

Our programmes are designed around learning through experience encouraging young people to observe, ask questions, understand animal behaviour and appreciate why protecting wild places matters.
And while younger explorers are busy discovering the wilderness through supervised activities, parents also have an opportunity to slow down and enjoy a little time of their own.
